Escue & Associates was founded by

Lt. Colonel Walter Escue Walter and Beth Escue

upon his retirement from the United States Air Force in 1971. He moved his family to Houston, Texas and began working with Children's Press, a major publisher for K-8 library books.

Walter was the typical salesman until 1976, when he came up with the idea of creating a mobile showroom for books. The first Bookmobile made it's appearance in 1976, and was an immediate success. Walter and Beth became known far and wide for their Bookmobile.
